Welcome
Heritage. Opportunity. Pleasant Environment.
Located in the northwest mountains of North Carolina, Sparta is a close drive from the cities, but is 'miles away' from anywhere.
The words on Sparta's seal celebrate our heritage, opportunities for our citizens, and a pleasant environment for all. Its dates mark land donated for the town site in 1866 and Sparta's re-incorporation in 1924.
